New York, NY – March 2, 2023 – Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners (“Quinbrook”), a specialist global investment manager focused exclusively on the infrastructure needed for the energy transition, announced that it has been awarded “North America’s Energy Deal of the Year” for its Gemini project by the 2022 Infrastructure Investor Awards.
Located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, the US$1.2 billion Gemini project is currently the largest solar and storage project under construction in the US. With 690 MWac of solar plus 1,416 MWh of battery storage capacity, Gemini is expected to generate enough clean energy to power more than 400,000 homes during peak periods and displace 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 annually once it’s complete and operational later this year.
As a leading investor in the energy transition, we are very pleased to be recognized by our industry peers and institutional investors around the world for this landmark transaction. Gemini is not just a monumental project for Quinbrook, but is creating a blueprint for holistic, large-scale clean energy development that delivers positive impact on multiple fronts. Together with our partners APG, we look forward to showcasing the significant role that large-scale solar+storage will play in helping to decarbonize entire cities which is what Gemini will do for Las Vegas”David Scaysbrook
