A green energy retailer and community energy developer sold to a consortium led by Palisade Impact in 2024.

In 2024, Quinbrook exited its 100% ownership of Energy Trade and Energy Locals, both acquired by a consortium led by Palisade Impact. Energy Trade is one of Australia’s leading Community Energy Network (CEN) businesses, providing integrated behind-the-meter solutions such as solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, smart meters, and hot water systems. Serving nearly 300 residential, commercial, and industrial sites across Australia’s east coast, Energy Trade empowers communities to manage energy sustainably.

In 2020, Energy Trade acquired a controlling stake in Energy Locals, a non-traditional electricity retailer offering fixed-price membership plans and feed-in tariffs for unused solar power. Together, under Quinbrook’s leadership, they expanded their metering portfolio from 11,000 to over 144,000 points, managing more than 460 GWh of wholesale electricity annually. Energy Locals earned multiple accolades, including Finder’s ‘Green Energy Retailer of the Year’ awards in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024.
