Velox Power

Velox Power is Quinbrook’s UK flexible generation platform, developed since 2017 through a combination of acquisitions and project buildouts. The platform comprises a geographically diversified portfolio of small-scale flexible generation assets across the UK, with total capacity exceeding 300MW.

The portfolio supports grid stability by addressing system security challenges associated with the increasing penetration of intermittent renewable generation.

Headquartered in Warrington, Velox Power operates gas peaking assets across England, Scotland, and Wales, with concentrations in key demand centres including the Midlands, Northern England, and Central Scotland. Supported by an in-house operations and maintenance team, the assets provide fast-start peaking and reserve services, enabling participation in a range of UK electricity and balancing markets.
