South Burlington

South Burlington is an operating biogas project located in South Burlington, Vermont that converts organic waste into renewable electricity.

South Burlington is co-located with a local brewery, which serves as the project’s anchor feedstock supplier, with additional feedstock trucked-in from the surrounding area. Biogas produced by the project is converted to renewable electricity utilising a 300 kW generator and supplied to the co-located brewery under a net metering arrangement. Commissioned in 2009, South Burlington is PurposeEnergy’s first project and continues to operate today.
