In July of 2025, Quinbrook made its first investment in the Republic of Ireland with the acquisition of the Wexford Synchronous Condenser Project (“Wexford”), a proposed 963 MVAs facility located in County Wexford, Ireland.

The Wexford project was awarded a long-term revenue contract under Eirgrid’s Low Carbon Inertia Services (LCIS) tender in June 2024. The facility is configured to provide critical grid services including inertia, short-circuit level, and reactive power that are essential to maintain stability in the Irish electricity grid. Utilising knowledge and relationships gained through the procurement and construction of its seven previous projects, Wexford will progress quickly to construction, with Quinbrook having already committed 100% of the equity requirement.
